A very easy and simple guide on how and where to apply perfume for men.
So you just bought a beautiful cologne of your choice that you really liked and want to try it out as soon as possible. But at the same time, you are also a bit confused as to where and how to apply the scent so that the smell lingers around nicely creating a pleasing environment for the people around you and not to create an overpowering sense of smell that it starts to annoy people.
Most of us also search the internet a lot for a simple answer that would be easy yet effective and would not take a whole lot of time. But, most of the answers that you find online sounds too complicated and quite hard for a newbie to understand during the initial stage of their journey towards perfecting the art of applying a cologne.
So, in this blog post, I am going to simplify the whole process on how and where to apply a perfume the most effective and easy way. So let’s start…
First, let us learn on how to apply a cologne…
You should strictly avoid applying cologne on your clothes. Though clothes are a better conductor for perfumes than skin as it helps the scent to stay on longer, it is not the ideal place to apply as the oils present in your cologne needs the heat of your skin to create an effect of desirability.
It is also to be noted that perfume should never be applied on wet skin which means you should never apply a cologne as soon as you get out of the shower.
You should dry out completely before applying cologne which is why I would suggest you to wait at least 15 minutes after finishing a shower and then to apply perfume to avail its full effectiveness.
Now, the question which arises is how much cologne should you apply?
The answer is quite simple actually though many would suggest a lot of different opinions. Every reputed cologne manufacturing companies make their cologne in such a way that a single spray is actually more than plenty for any individual.
Let’s learn where to apply cologne….
Learning to apply cologne in the right area is actually quite tricky as different people have different methods. Many would suggest you to start trying it out in the chest area first for a few days as it would help you to get a hang of the perfume. But, personally I do not like it when the smell of the scent lingers around my nose all the time.
The way which I personally like is applying perfume to 5 pulse points on my body as pulse points generally are heat areas on your body and the heat will push the scent throughout the day creating a nice scent trail commonly called sillage.
The 5 points where I apply are the back of the ears, the back of the neck and the inner elbow. I feel this is the best combination for anyone to apply cologne though sometimes i skip my inner elbows and instead go for my shoulders.
There is another method which is known as the spray and walk method where you spray the perfume in the air and walk through it. It is probably the sexiest way to apply a perfume but a lot of it actually goes to waste. So, I would suggest you to avoid this technique though if you are interested in impressing someone with your swag, it will probably blow them away.
Hence, to conclude, everyone loves a good smelling person as smell is probably the strongest sense that we possess. So, investing in a good quality perfume is always recommended. I hope you learnt something good from this article.
